Saturday, we had to go through 4 locks and 3 lift bridges before we could make the final turn into Montreal. There was a delay in our first set of locks, which put the rest of the day behind schedule. It was a twelve hour day of hurry up and wait. It was great to get the locks and bridges behind us, but also a bit momentous: these were the last of the St. Lawrence Seaway!
Once we transited the final lock, it was a short journey to our turn upstream into Montreal. The current was tremendously strong and against us. Even with the engine at full throttle we were going just 3 mph. Eventually we got into our marina, safe and sound. A few quick showers and off to dinner in Montreal in a neighborhood gastropub. So nice!
