Final Night on Lake Huron

This morning we had the great joy of getting our dinghy up on deck before an early morning departure from Harbor Beach. We traveled a short distance under motor (no wind today) and arrived in the pouring rain in Lexington. We managed to deflate the dinghy and wrangle it into our sail locker just in time to be greeted by Jim’s friend’s parents who live in town!

Elaine and Wendell were lovely hosts. They gave us a tour of their son and daughter-in-law’s winery and brew pub , 3 North Vines, where they treated us to a delicious dinner!

Tomorrow we will sail our last miles on Lake Huron before exiting on the St. Clair River enroute to Lake St Clair, which is in the waterway between Huron and Erie.
