Once we had shooed away some unexpected guests, we got another early start this morning. We finished off the last bit of Lake St. Clair and headed down the Detroit River. Our route took us right by downtown Detroit, with Windsor Ontario to the south, and under the Ambassador Bridge.
After navigating down the river, this old lighthouse welcomed us at the entrance to Lake Erie.
We made our way south to the Bass Islands – lots of boating activity on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon at Put-in-Bay! Thankfully, we kept moving to our quiet anchorage on the north side of Kelleys Island.
The water is much warmer than Superior and Huron โ over 70 degrees. A supper of omelette and green salad, followed by a refreshing swim. We should sleep well tonight.
