On the Thumb of the Mitten

Once we departed Tawas Bay this morning, we got our sails up with favorable winds. As the day progressed, the winds diminished and we motorsailed for a while before we finally had to just simply motor.

This afternoon the winds came dead on our nose. We pounded through wind and waves for 4 hours until we finally reached today’s destination: Harbor Beach, MI.

It’s not always smooth sailing

It was a pleasant sight to see the beautiful lighthouse on the breakwater.

The Harbor Beach Lighthouse

We plan to spend an extra day here so Anne can join some virtual meetings for work tomorrow.
