We had an uneventful overnight with beautiful sunset and sunrise views of the hills running down to the coast. The stars last night were spectacular, and we could see the Milky Way. We were hoping to see whales — none so far!
The current was with us, and we were able to make Rivière-au-Renard (Fox River) by about 4pm. It’s a fishing town, and the marina is full of working boats. We had lots of help docking, which was great. Due to the language barrier we didn’t know which slip we would be using or whether we’d be a port or starboard tie. Everyone was friendly and patient with our terrible, very limited French.
After getting tied up in the marina we headed into town for dinner at a local brewpub. The food was so good! Weather permitting, we will head to Gaspé tomorrow.
