Yesterday, we left Montreal around 8 am and started downstream to Trois-Rivières. It’s good to get back underway, and closer to our destination (wherever that may be). The current helped us again, adding 2-3 kts to our speed, so we arrived at the marina in Trois-Rivieres before they closed for the day. We got fuel and made our way to our dock well before 6 pm.
The marina is our kind of place: low key, quiet and friendly. We speak almost no French; the staff speaks a little English; we all make it work. The marina has e-bikes for use by transient boaters (that’s us!), so we borrowed two and went to town today, about a 2-3 mile ride. The bikes made it pleasant to zip into town, have breakfast and run some light errands.
After boat cleaning duties, we will review our plans to head to Quebec City tomorrow. We want to time it so that we arrive at slack tide. So begins adding tides to our calculations and route planning! Almost to salt water…
