After another night of great rest in Hamilton Harbour, we decided to take a shore excursion today.

After we got the dinghy out of the sail locker and inflated, we raised anchor and moved Guidance closer to town. Then we set out to find a place that would allow us to land our dinghy. This turned out to be the greatest challenge of the day. We wound up touring almost all of Hamilton’s waterfront to find a place we could tie up the dinghy.

We started by going east to check for places to land. We kept striking out until we accidentally trespassed onto a Canadian military base. They were firmly polite that we were trespassing, and even suggested a place we could tie up the dinghy — just 1/2 mile west of where we anchored Guidance! We got a chuckle out of that.

Once we tied up the dinghy, we grabbed some scooters and headed into town. Found a nice dinner near the laundromat, shopped for some groceries and then came back to the boat for a relaxing evening.

This new location is next to a pretty park and has nice views. We’re thinking of heading to Toronto tomorrow.
