We got a slip right in the heart of Old Port Montreal. The marina is secure and well protected. It’s also fun for getting into the city and exploring. We are right in the heart of the waterfront buzz, so the energy ramps up in evening. However, it quiets down by about 11 at night, which has worked for us.

We’ve eaten great food — mostly Quebecois of course, including having introduced Grace to the Montreal bagel. They are different from New York bagels: rather than being boiled with baking soda, they are boiled with honey water, resulting in a denser, sweeter bagel. Quite delicious!

In addition to shopping and exploring the town, we checked out a Cirque du Soleil show. Amazing! Tonight we will have one last dinner with Grace before she heads back to California and her regular life. It’s been so nice to have her with us.
